Copyright and Licensing
Articles published by Jurnal Venus under this policy are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits users to copy, share, redistribute, adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the licensed material, including for commercial purposes, provided appropriate attribution is given and the applicable license conditions are followed.
View CC BY 4.0 License ↗Jurnal Venus, published by Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Makassar, Indonesia, is committed to open access, responsible scholarly communication, and the protection of intellectual property rights. This policy explains the copyright ownership, publishing rights, licensing conditions, reuse permissions, and responsibilities associated with articles published by Jurnal Venus.
The license applicable to a particular article is the license displayed on its article landing page, published PDF, and/or version of record. Content published previously under different terms remains governed by the copyright and license conditions applicable at the time of its publication.
Publication in Jurnal Venus does not require authors to transfer exclusive copyright ownership to the journal or publisher. Authors retain copyright subject to any lawful institutional, employer, sponsor, contractual, or third-party rights that may apply to their work.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that they possess the necessary rights to submit and publish the manuscript and that any co-authors or other relevant rights holders have approved publication under the applicable license.
By submitting an accepted manuscript for publication, the author(s) grant Jurnal Venus a non-exclusive right to publish the article as the journal's version of record and permission to edit, format, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, preserve, archive, index, and make the article publicly available under the applicable open-access license.
Jurnal Venus may deposit or distribute article metadata and published content through Crossref, indexing services, scholarly databases, discovery systems, institutional repositories, digital-preservation services, and other legitimate scholarly communication infrastructures.
Unless otherwise clearly stated for a specific item, articles published under this policy are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) .
Reusers must provide appropriate credit to the author(s), identify Jurnal Venus as the original publication venue where appropriate, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made. Users must not impose additional legal or technological restrictions that prevent uses permitted by CC BY 4.0.
Appropriate attribution should normally identify the author(s), article title, journal title, publication year, and DOI or official article URL where available. The attribution must also provide the CC BY 4.0 license information and indicate whether the reused material has been modified.
Author(s), “Article Title,” Jurnal Venus, year, DOI. Licensed under CC BY 4.0. Adapted from the original where applicable.
Authors may share and archive lawful versions of their work through personal websites, institutional repositories, academic profiles, scholarly networks, and other legitimate channels, subject to third-party rights and applicable institutional requirements.
Authors may deposit the submitted manuscript, accepted manuscript, and final published version where lawful and appropriate. When sharing the version of record, authors should include the complete article citation and link to the DOI or official Jurnal Venus article page.
Jurnal Venus does not impose an embargo period on self-archiving of articles published under CC BY 4.0.
Authors must identify material for which they do not own the copyright and obtain any permission required for publication and reuse. This may include photographs, maps, figures, tables, questionnaires, instruments, illustrations, extended quotations, datasets, screenshots, and other copyrighted or restricted material.
Third-party content that is excluded from the article's CC BY 4.0 license must be clearly identified through an appropriate credit line or rights statement. The CC BY 4.0 license applied to an article does not automatically override separate rights or reuse restrictions attached to third-party material.
CC BY 4.0 does not eliminate other rights or legal obligations that may apply, including privacy rights, data-protection requirements, confidentiality obligations, moral rights, publicity rights, research-participant protections, trademark rights, or rights in separately licensed third-party material. Users remain responsible for determining whether additional permissions are required for their intended reuse.
Readers, researchers, educators, institutions, publishers, and other users may reuse content covered by CC BY 4.0 without requesting separate permission for activities already allowed by that license.
Reusers must provide proper attribution, identify modifications, respect separately identified third-party rights, and must not imply that the author(s), Jurnal Venus, or Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Makassar endorse a reuse, adaptation, product, organization, or viewpoint merely because attribution is provided.
Articles published under this policy should display a consistent copyright and licensing statement on the article landing page, PDF version of record, and relevant OJS metadata fields where supported.
A later policy update must not be presented as retroactively changing the copyright or license terms attached to an earlier publication. The journal will preserve a clear record of the terms applicable to previously published material.
Jurnal Venus seeks to maintain consistency between the licensing information displayed in the published article, OJS article metadata, journal website, DOI metadata, and other supported dissemination systems.
Where licensing metadata is incorrect or incomplete, the journal may correct the relevant metadata without altering the substantive content of the article and will update external metadata services where technically supported.
Concerns regarding copyright infringement, unauthorized use, missing permissions, inaccurate attribution, conflicting licenses, ownership disputes, or improper reuse should be reported to the Jurnal Venus Editorial Office.
Jurnal Venus will assess such concerns fairly and may request supporting documentation from relevant parties. Where warranted, the journal may correct copyright or license information, amend metadata, publish a formal correction, restrict specific third-party content, or take further action in accordance with the Publication Ethics, Corrections and Retractions, and Complaints and Appeals policies.
This policy is periodically reviewed by the Jurnal Venus editorial board and may be updated to reflect developments in open-access publishing, intellectual-property standards, Creative Commons licensing, publication ethics, and applicable regulations.
Questions concerning copyright, permissions, licensing, or reuse may be directed to perpustakaan@pipmakassar.ac.id or through the official Jurnal Venus Contact page .
