Post-Publication Discussion
Policy for scholarly discussion, comments, responses, and concerns relating to articles published in Jurnal Venus.

Policy Statement
Jurnal Venus welcomes responsible, evidence-based, and constructive scholarly discussion concerning articles published in the journal. Readers, researchers, authors, and other members of the scholarly community may submit comments, questions, critiques, clarifications, or concerns relating to the methodology, interpretation, findings, conclusions, or integrity of a published article.
Post-publication discussion is intended to support scholarly dialogue, transparency, correction of the academic record where necessary, and the continued development of maritime research and professional knowledge.
01
Submitting Comments and Concerns
Readers who wish to comment on, discuss, question, or raise concerns about a published article may contact the editorial office of Jurnal Venus. Submissions should clearly identify the article concerned and explain the issue or scholarly point being raised.
Official Contact
Post-publication comments or concerns may be submitted through the Jurnal Venus Contact page or by email to perpustakaan@pipmakassar.ac.id .
Correspondence should be written respectfully, factually, and in good faith. Where possible, claims or concerns should be supported by relevant evidence, data, references, documentation, or other verifiable information.
02
Scholarly Comments and Commentaries
Substantive comments that make a meaningful scholarly contribution may be considered by the editorial team for publication as a Letter to the Editor, Commentary, Discussion, or another appropriate form of scholarly correspondence.
The editorial team will assess whether the submission is relevant, evidence-based, academically appropriate, and sufficiently substantive to warrant publication. Comments that consist primarily of personal opinion, unsupported allegations, promotional material, or language that is abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate will not be considered for publication.
03
Author Response
When a substantive scholarly comment or critique is considered for publication, the author or authors of the original article will normally be invited to respond.
Authors will be given a reasonable opportunity to provide clarification, supporting evidence, methodological explanation, or a formal response to the issues raised. Where appropriate, the comment and author response may be published together or linked to the original article to provide readers with a transparent scholarly record.
04
Editorial Assessment
The editorial team will assess post-publication comments and responses impartially. Where necessary, Jurnal Venus may seek advice from independent reviewers, subject experts, statistical or methodological experts, research-integrity personnel, or other qualified individuals.
Participation in post-publication discussion does not guarantee publication of a comment or response. Editorial decisions will be based on relevance, evidence, scholarly value, clarity, ethical considerations, and potential contribution to the scientific record.
05
Errors and Corrections
If post-publication discussion identifies a material error, omission, inconsistency, or other problem that affects the accuracy or interpretation of a published article, the editorial team will assess whether formal corrective action is required.
Where appropriate, Jurnal Venus may publish a correction, clarification, editorial notice, expression of concern, or retraction in accordance with the journal's Corrections and Retractions Policy .
06
Concerns About Research Misconduct
Concerns involving possible fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, inappropriate image or data manipulation, unethical research practices, authorship misconduct, undisclosed conflicts of interest, peer-review manipulation, or other forms of research or publication misconduct will not be treated solely as ordinary scholarly discussion.
Such concerns will be assessed according to the Jurnal Venus Allegations of Research Misconduct Policy and other applicable publication-ethics policies.
07
Confidentiality and Fair Treatment
Jurnal Venus will handle post-publication concerns responsibly and will respect confidentiality where appropriate. Allegations or evidence concerning possible misconduct will not be publicly disclosed unnecessarily while an assessment or investigation is ongoing.
All parties will be treated fairly and impartially. The journal will distinguish between legitimate scholarly disagreement, errors made in good faith, and evidence suggesting possible research or publication misconduct.
08
Maintaining the Scholarly Record
Where a post-publication comment, author response, correction, expression of concern, or other notice is published, Jurnal Venus will seek to maintain a clear connection between the discussion and the original article.
The original article and any subsequent notices or scholarly responses should remain identifiable and accessible so that readers can understand the development of the scholarly record.
