Open Acces Policy
Jurnal Venus is a fully open-access scholarly journal. All published articles are made freely and immediately available online without subscription fees, paywalls, embargo periods, or mandatory registration for readers. Access to the published scholarly content is provided worldwide through the journal website.
Jurnal Venus provides immediate open access to scholarly articles from the moment they are published. No embargo period is applied to the journal's current open-access articles.
Readers are not required to purchase individual articles, maintain a subscription, or pay institutional access fees to read the full text. The journal supports the principle that broad access to research contributes to scholarly visibility, knowledge exchange, education, professional practice, and further research.
Unless otherwise clearly stated for a particular item, articles published under this policy are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) .
CC BY 4.0 permits users to copy, redistribute, remix, transform, translate, and build upon licensed articles for both non-commercial and commercial purposes, provided appropriate attribution is given, the license is identified, and modifications are indicated where applicable.
View CC BY 4.0 License ↗Publication in Jurnal Venus does not require an exclusive transfer of copyright ownership to the journal or publisher. Authors grant Jurnal Venus the non-exclusive rights necessary to publish, distribute, preserve, index, and make the article available as the journal's version of record under the applicable open-access license.
Detailed copyright and licensing provisions are set out in the journal's Copyright and Licensing Policy.
Users do not need to request additional permission from Jurnal Venus for uses that are already authorized by CC BY 4.0. Appropriate attribution should identify the author(s), article title, Jurnal Venus, publication details, and DOI or official article URL where available.
Reusers must also provide or identify the applicable CC BY 4.0 license and indicate whether changes or adaptations were made. Attribution must not imply endorsement by the authors, Jurnal Venus, or Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Makassar.
Jurnal Venus permits and encourages authors to archive lawful versions of their manuscripts in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal academic websites, academic profiles, and other appropriate scholarly platforms.
Authors may deposit the submitted manuscript, accepted manuscript, and final published version where legally permitted and subject to any third-party rights contained in the work.
Jurnal Venus does not impose an embargo period on self-archiving of articles published under CC BY 4.0. When the final published version is shared, authors are encouraged to include the complete citation and DOI or official Jurnal Venus article URL.
The CC BY 4.0 license applied to a Jurnal Venus article does not automatically apply to third-party content that is separately identified as being subject to different copyright or licensing terms.
Users are responsible for determining whether separate permission is required for the reuse of photographs, figures, maps, tables, instruments, datasets, illustrations, or other material credited to another rights holder.
Open access means that readers are not charged to access published articles. No subscription, pay-per-view, or institutional access fee is required to read Jurnal Venus.
Jurnal Venus currently charges IDR 0 for article submission, peer review, article processing, and publication. The journal does not operate a paid fast-track or priority-review service. Complete information is provided in the Article Processing Charges policy.
Jurnal Venus permits article metadata and, where appropriate, openly licensed scholarly content to be indexed, harvested, linked, discovered, and preserved through legitimate scholarly databases, search engines, repositories, DOI infrastructure, library systems, and digital-preservation services. Such dissemination supports discoverability and long-term access to the scholarly record.
The copyright and license statement displayed on an individual article or its version of record determines the terms applicable to that publication. A later change to journal policy does not automatically or retroactively alter the rights and license terms attached to material published previously under different conditions.
Through immediate open access and open licensing, Jurnal Venus seeks to increase the availability and responsible reuse of scholarly knowledge for researchers, practitioners, educators, students, maritime professionals, policymakers, institutions, and the wider public.
This policy is periodically reviewed by the Jurnal Venus editorial board and may be updated to reflect developments in open-access publishing, Creative Commons licensing, scholarly communication, indexing and preservation practices, applicable regulations, and journal procedures.
