Jurnal Venus, Volume 12, Number 1, March 2024, presents scholarly articles addressing marine engineering, ship operations, navigational safety, maritime administration, and vessel safety equipment. The contributions examine refrigeration-system maintenance and its role in maintaining food supplies aboard ships, ballast-pump performance in supporting ballast-water operations, the issuance of Ship Movement Approval Letters (Surat Persetujuan Olah Gerak/SPOG), vessel maneuvering in narrow waterways, main-engine lubricating-oil conditions, the readiness of fire-fighting equipment, and lifeboat maintenance. Collectively, the studies provide practical and academic perspectives on improving machinery reliability, navigational performance, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, and the overall safety and efficiency of maritime operations.
