Jurnal Venus, Volume 8, Number 1, March 2020, presents scholarly contributions concerning maritime education, port operations, occupational competence, transportation safety, seafarer fatigue, and marine engineering. The articles examine quality assurance in maritime higher education, comparative perspectives on educational systems, the competence of port operational personnel, container transportation safety, character education and cadet discipline, the use of rest periods in reducing crew fatigue, and the effect of lubricating-oil conditions on main-engine bearings. Collectively, the studies highlight human, educational, operational, and technical dimensions of maritime development.
