Although Indonesia has significant renewable energy potential, its utilization rate remains relatively low. This situation indicates that the challenges of the green energy transition are not only technical and economic, but also influenced by social factors, particularly education, social acceptance, and technology adoption. This study aims to analyze the relationship between education level, social acceptance, and the adoption of green energy technology in Indonesia. The study focuses on the role of education in shaping energy literacy and awareness, the dynamics of social acceptance of renewable energy technology, and the factors that hinder and encourage the adoption of green energy technology within the context of national policy. The research method used is a systematic literature review. Data were collected from scientific articles indexed by Scopus, Web of Science, and SINTA, as well as government policy reports and publications from relevant international institutions, covering the last five years. The analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically by grouping the literature findings into themes of education, social acceptance, and technology adoption. The results show that education level has a significant influence on increasing energy literacy and positive public attitudes toward green energy. Social acceptance has been shown to be a key factor influencing the successful implementation of renewable energy technologies, particularly through perceptions of benefits, risks, and distributive equity. However, the adoption of green energy technologies still faces obstacles such as high initial investment costs, limited infrastructure, and inconsistent policies. This research confirms that accelerating the green energy transition in Indonesia requires a holistic and integrated policy approach, combining strengthened education, increased social acceptance, and sustainable institutional support
2026-09-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2026 JURNAL VENUS https://jurnal.pipmakassar.ac.id/vns/article/view/847 Prevention of Work Accidents on the KMP Kalabia Ship During Cargo Handling in the Port 2026-03-05T14:37:29+08:00 Meti Kendek metikendek10@gmail.com Carles Y. Cargo handling involves heavy loads, lashing operations, and the use of ramp doors, exposing the crew and port workers to considerable risk. This study aims to analyze the factors causing work accidents on the KMP Kalabia during cargo handling and to identify preventive measures that can be implemented to reduce the accident rate. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and field observations involving the ship’s crew and port supervisors. The results indicate that the main causes of work accidents on the KMP Kalabia are low compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), a lack of understanding of proper cargo lashing procedures, and inadequate supervision. Equipment failures, such as overloaded ramp doors, also contribute to accident risk. These findings show that accidents stem from a combination of human, procedural, and technical factors. This study recommends strengthening continuous safety training, enforcing stricter discipline in PPE usage, and implementing real-time monitoring technologies to improve supervision during cargo handling. These measures are expected to reduce accident rates and foster a stronger safety culture among the crew and port workers.
2026-09-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2026 JURNAL VENUS https://jurnal.pipmakassar.ac.id/vns/article/view/891 Analysis of Crewing Roles and Functions in Preparing Ship Crews at PT Pelayaran Andalas Bahtera Baruna, West Jakarta Branch 2026-09-28T13:54:27+08:00 Agus Pramono aguspramono261@gmail.com Muhammad Idris idris.muh2626@gmail.com Frella Zefrianty frella@gmail.com
A ship’s crew member is a person who works or is employed on board a ship by the owner or operator of the ship to perform duties on board in accordance with the position listed in the crew list (sijil). Under maritime law, the crew comprises all persons who work on board and are tasked with operating, maintaining, and safeguarding the ship and its cargo, with the exception of the master. This study aims to analyze the roles and functions of the crewing department in preparing ship crews at PT Pelayaran Andalas Bahtera Baruna, West Jakarta Branch, and the obstacles it faces. A descriptive qualitative approach was used. The research was conducted over nine months, and data were obtained directly at the research site through observation and interviews with the crewing executive department, supported by documentation and a literature study. The results show that the crewing department has carried out the planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling functions in accordance with procedures; however, the preparation of the ship’s crew at the time of crew change (sign on/sign off) has not been optimal because of delays in certificate revalidation and medical check-ups, which causes losses in terms of time, effort, and company funds. An integrated, database-based monitoring system and improved crew discipline in meeting administrative requirements are recommended.
2026-09-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2026 JURNAL VENUS https://jurnal.pipmakassar.ac.id/vns/article/view/892 Analysis of the Performance of Ship Agencies in Supporting Operational Efficiency at PT Bahari Eka Nusantara 2026-09-28T13:47:00+08:00 Budi Purnomo bdpurnomo85@gmail.com Yollanda Octavitri yollanda@gmail.com Muhammad Iqbal Maulana Purnama iqbal@gmail.com
Ship agency plays a strategic role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of vessels at ports. Agencies handle a range of services, from arranging vessel clearance documents to coordinating with port authorities, terminal operators, and other related parties, so the quality of their performance directly affects vessel turnaround time. This study aims to analyze the performance of ship agency services at PT Bahari Eka Nusantara. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Performance was examined in terms of the timeliness of service, the handling of ship documents, and coordination with port stakeholders, with a focus on the operational human resources who deliver these services. The results show that ship agency services still face obstacles, mainly the limited number and competence of operational staff, which lead to administrative delays in ship services, document management, and clearance in and out, as well as less optimal coordination with terminals and ship crews. Therefore, improving human resource competencies and strengthening the coordination system are necessary to enhance service quality sustainably. These findings are expected to serve as input for the company in formulating strategies to improve its ship agency services in the future.
2026-09-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2026 JURNAL VENUS https://jurnal.pipmakassar.ac.id/vns/article/view/893 Analysis of Ferry Services on the KMP Lohoraung and KMP Tarusi at Likupang Port 2026-09-28T13:58:58+08:00 Surnata surnata2004@gmail.com Pierre Marcello Lopulalan mrcll1980@gmail.com Eko Nugroho Widjatmoko eko@gmail.com Rahmat Santoso rahmat@gmail.com Annisa Rahmah annisa@gmail.com
This study aims to evaluate the quality of ferry transportation services at Likupang Ferry Port based on the Minimum Service Standards (MSS) using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method. Likupang Ferry Port plays an important role in supporting community mobility, goods distribution, and economic and tourism activities in North Sulawesi. However, several service problems are still encountered, such as inadequate safety, health, and passenger comfort facilities, which may affect customer satisfaction. This study employed a quantitative approach by collecting primary data through observations, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to 338 users of the ferry services of KMP Lohoraung and KMP Tarusi. The data were analyzed using the IPA method, while validity and reliability tests were conducted using SPSS. The results showed that the passenger service conformity level was 48.38% on KMP Lohoraung and 51.61% on KMP Tarusi, indicating that both vessels have not yet met the MSS. Meanwhile, vehicle services were categorized as good, with conformity levels of 85.18% on KMP Lohoraung and 81.48% on KMP Tarusi. The ship operational aspect achieved a conformity level of 100% for operating schedules, berthing time, loading and unloading, and sailing speed. The IPA revealed that the main service attributes requiring improvement are lifeboat condition, medical rooms, passenger toilets, prayer rooms, lighting, and nursing rooms, as these attributes have high importance but low performance. All research instruments were valid and reliable. This research is expected to serve as an evaluation reference for port management and ferry operators in improving ferry services at Likupang Ferry Port.
2026-09-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2026 JURNAL VENUS https://jurnal.pipmakassar.ac.id/vns/article/view/894 Strategic Measures to Prevent Short Cargo During Coal Loading and Unloading Operations: A Case Study 2026-09-29T09:19:45+08:00 Latifa Ika Sari latifaikasari78@gmail.com Jose Beno jose@gmail.com Risma Hulinggi risma@gmail.com
Short cargo refers to a condition in which the quantity of cargo unloaded does not match the amount loaded or specified in the stowage plan. This discrepancy poses a significant challenge for shipping companies, as it not only leads to financial losses but also damages their reputation. This study aims to analyze the causes, impacts, and prevention strategies of short cargo incidents during the coal loading and unloading process at a shipping company. A qualitative research method with a case study approach was employed. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, with key informants including the Operations Manager, the shipping agent, and the ship’s master. Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) was used to identify the root causes of the problem. The findings indicate that the primary factors contributing to short cargo are adverse weather conditions, human error, criminal activities, and equipment malfunctions during loading and unloading operations. The consequences of short cargo extend beyond financial losses to include reputational damage and a decline in customer trust. To mitigate these risks, the company has implemented various preventive strategies, such as enhancing supervision during operations, using more efficient loading and unloading equipment, providing training for crew members and stevedores, and strengthening coordination among relevant stakeholders. With these measures in place, the company aims to reduce the occurrence of short cargo and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its coal handling operations.
2026-09-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2026 JURNAL VENUS https://jurnal.pipmakassar.ac.id/vns/article/view/895 Handling and Supervision of Stowaways on KM Sabuk Nusantara 86 2026-09-28T14:02:33+08:00 I Komang Hedi Pramana Adiputra komanghediadiputra@gmail.com Ryan Puby Sumarta ryan@gmail.com Nurmina J. In response, the international maritime community established the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, a regulation aimed at ensuring that ships remain in a secure condition in order to prevent threats to ship security. This study aims to determine the handling and supervision of stowaways, as well as the risks posed by their presence, on KM Sabuk Nusantara 86. A qualitative descriptive method was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation from primary and secondary sources. The results indicate that stowaways create various risks and problems for both the shipping company and the ship, including the loss of passengers’ property, fire hazards, threats to the safety of passengers and crew, reduced passenger confidence, and departure delays. In addition, ship delays frequently occur due to suboptimal passenger services during embarkation and disembarkation. Therefore, closer cooperation between the ship and port security is needed to strengthen the supervision and handling of stowaways and to ensure compliance with the ISPS Code.
2026-09-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2026 JURNAL VENUS
